Margie Bassman

Margie has taught Little Hands classes since the fall of 2000, when she became a licensed Kindermusik educator. She especially enjoys teaching the preschoolers and the 4 1/2 - 7 year olds. Margie graduated from Connecticut College in New London with a degree in music. She has a Master's Degree in Special Education with a concentration in Learning Disabilities from George Mason University. Margie was an LD Self-Contained Teacher in the Fairfax County Public Schools.

When she was in the 4th grade, Margie was introduced to the string instruments of the orchestra. She immediately fell in love with the sound of the viola and has been playing it ever since then. Margie teaches viola and violin at the JCCNV in Fairfax and from her home studio. In addition, she performs as a clown and a magician with the Fairfax Symphony Orchestra's "Overture to Orchestra" programs in local schools and county parks.
